My mom is a master quilter. She has been doing it since before I was born and has turned out some of the most amazing blankets you have ever seen in your life. I will post a picture of my wedding quilt some day, there are literally thousand of tiny pieces in it and the entire thing is hand quilted. She made this 36x36 pieced quilt and I asked her to review it for the blog.
The pattern:
Her Review:
If your motto is "Fast and Easy" (I'm talking quilts here!) then this quilt pattern will be an exercise in your patience and precision. Gratefully, it is small and if you are persistent, it pays off. I told someone who was admiring it, "It's like my daughter, (who was a difficult teenager)- was a real pain, but turned out great."
Instead of charm packs, you could use layer cakes and double the measurements. The quilt would be larger and you wont go blind making it. Then again, if you always wanted to be a neurosurgeon- go for the wall hanging, Uptown Girl.
Don't you want to take her home?! I just love her to bits. If you didn't gather, this quilt is an advanced quilt. Some of the pieces end up only 1/4 inch wide, so it's no simple feat, but I ADORE how it turned out. If you have never seen Carolina Patchworks patterns before, you are certainly in for a treat, they are beautiful and ornate. Check out this Mona Lisa Quilt from her blog:
I know!! Ridiculously ridiculous! She is a true artist. I cannot wait to see her displays at market next month.

I want to make a quilt! I've never done it, but started buying some fabric quarters I fell in love with. Thanks for sharing this at my party, hope you come back tomorrow!
Wow! I really love how the borders around the blocks show off the intricacy of each one!
