Scalloped Edge Artwork

I have this giant picture of the Eiffel Tower hanging in my stairway, and it has always reminded me of a postcard, or a postage stamp, so that gave me an idea...

I measured my canvas which was 55 x 80. I found a common denominator = 5.  So I knew my scallops needed to be 5 inches each.

Since my husband isn't that fond of my painting and wall papering dreams, I decided to use vinyl for this project. I cut 5 inch circles with my Cricut machine, and started by putting them in each corner like this:

Then, I used my laser leveler to keep my scallops even and started sticking the circles on behind my picture. (If you want to save vinyl, you could cut the circle in half and use both sides, but I didn't bother.) I tried to space them exactly 5 inches apart.  It wasn't exactly perfect, but it still looked cute.

continue up the sides of your artwork. You won't be able to use your leveler for this, so you'll have to eyeball it.
finally, create your scallop on the top of your picture, and that is it!

I'm Serious! You're done!
was that easy or what?!

Oh, and you can ask your cute husband to do all the "manly" stuff, so he feels like he's part of it :)
