Have you seen this new technique? I'm officially OBSESSED! My Sister-in-law's Mother was describing to me how she made this sickeningly awesome bag. She has made huge baskets with this technique as well. I want to marry this bag!

Ummm quick, figure it out, because that bag is amazing. And i adore 1930's repro fabric.... Can you imagine a huge basket made out of this..... So beautiful.
It is gorgeous. I had a great aunt who used to do that and I am sorry that I didn't pay closer attention to how it was done. I'll look forward to the tutorial.
There is a book out there that explains the technique. Basically you cut strips of fabric about 3/4 to 1 inch wide...wrap around cotton clothesline and then use a zig zag stitch to sew it together...
